As an industry, we’ve gotten very good at giving people handgun training, and those who carry concealed get lots of handgun practice.
But we’ve barely begun to give people Concealed Carry Training… and most of those who go armed have seldom ever experienced anything that could be called Concealed Carry Practice.
Somewhere in this country every day, permit holders and police officers alike fall tragic victims to the realization – too late – that they were not mentally or physically prepared for the sudden, explosive conflagration that is the reality of a violent, threatening situation.
In real life, targets don’t stand still. There is no firing line. There is no buzzer that tells us when we need to act.
We will have to live forever with the decisions that we do (or fail to) make within the span of about 1.2
Reviewing thousands of use of force incidents has proven to us that training for a threatening incident neither
begins nor ends at the range. “Shooting”, regardless of how fast or accurately, is by no means the deciding
factor in why most of the good guys who win, win…. and why most of the good guys who lose… lose.
If the first time a new driver experiences driving in a blizzard is when he or she is alone… that’s a problem. And if their driver’s ed class never has them leave a parking lot, that’s a problem.
Outrageously enough, this is the equivalent of where even many of the highest-tier “gun training” courses leave their students.
Pistol and basic marksmanship development happen in a shooting stall. But where do we get prepared for concealed carry – and surviving a violent encounter with a living, moving, fighting threat?
One of the biggest faults with modern concealed carry training is that it happens totally devoid of what we call ‘the context of reality.’
The result is that most Guardians have no idea what to expect, or what will be demanded of them when their lives are on the line.
Good, effective training would have them leave the firing line when they’ve learned to fire their handguns well… and would then expose them to and immerse them into the dark reality they may one day be forced into.
The #1 quality that separates the average armed guardian and the violent individual(s) they may face is… experience.
Not only the mind, but the senses and intuition of the threat have been educated by real, hands-on experience.
Often, this experience can outweigh even the best training.
Truly effective concealed carry training would touch the mind, body, senses, and intuition of the responsibly-armed Guardian.

Anything less… and I haven’t done my work that I feel God has built me to do.”

Carrying concealed doesn’t have to be hard, confusing, physically uncomfortable, or boring.

He would love to become one of your coaches and guides as well.
From gun and gear selection to violence prediction and avoidance tactics, to de-escalation strategies, to legal matters, we are committed to ensuring that our CCU “alumni” are the most well-educated Guardians in America.
Surviving and shutting down a violent attack is nowhere near as difficult as most people would imagine. While guardians of all ages can attain these skills, it does require training in ways that run counter-intuitive to the industry as a whole. We aim to arm you with these abilities.
You have no reason to fear the man or the men whom you may face as violent threats. Engaging in successful armed defense of self and family need not be an overwhelming prospect. Our goal is that you will feel as confident in yourself as the rest of our students feel in themselves.

Hello and welcome: we’ve got work to do.

Whether it’s studying de-escalation tactics rooted in psychological
studies, military and battle history at the army and single unit levels, ancient
combatant philosophy, or fighting full force in the Sim arena as I test new
methods of preserving our lives, I believe all conflict is connected and that great
wisdom and strength (both mental and physical) can be gained from approaching
concealed carry as its own martial art. I believe concealed carry keeps us healthy
and keeps us young – if we do it correctly.
I enjoy teaching beginners the basics as much as I enjoy taking the elite 1%
further down their own paths. I believe you’ll find what you’re looking for in the
in-home education and training curriculum I’ve built here at CCU.
